Welcome to my review of the Delicious Greek in Aurora Ontario. This little gem is hidden so you have to kinda look for it on Wellington Street across from Tim’s I’ve always liked Greek food and this place doesn’t disappoint. large servings, friendly staff mostly a takeout restaurant but well worth the drive from any location to come here. Food is good and it’s always busy. You’re missing out on a great meal if you don’t come here.
We usually order dinner for 6 and used to be very delicious. Our last order was about 6 months back. Today we ordered and totally disappointed with the food. Salad with chunks of lettuce with parts of stem, poutine with gyro - it is now 50% less meat from what it used to be, no gravy and hardly any cheese curds. Totally disappointed and I will not go back to them again.
I decided to give this small business a try instead of the big chain greek place in town. what a mistake. i ordered the gyros dinner and found it odd i did not see one one the spit but figured. I then heard they guys talking in their own language and then all of a sudden i see it put on the spit, after a cpl mins was handed my food by a guy who was very rude. once i got home and opened my meal i was basically given rice and potatoes with the scraps of meat that they had left. all the size of a quarter or less. no strips of meat like you normally get anywhere else. lets just say i will never be back and wonder how this place is even in business after reading some of the bad reviews. the so called dressing on the greek salad was basically water. glad i only wasted 15 bucks.
I don't usually criticize restaurants online, but.... -the owner was extremely rude -does not like to hear customer concerns -does not like to answer questions -food has become increasingly substandard -he told me to go home and cook for myself What kind on business owner behaves in this manner? Not sure how he runs his business, but if I need to support local it won't be Delicious Greek anymore. After 10 years of loyal patronage I'll look to support someone else....
This place doesn't even deserve a one star. The owner is rude and rushes you off the phone, hangs up before you can place your order. The website states they open at 11:30 , wrong they open at 12. The staff do not wear masks and take your money and do not wash their hands after, Disgusting! I will not recommend this place to anyone! Definitely not following Covid requirements!!!! YOUR RESPONSE TO YOUR CUSTOMER REVIEWS SHOWS YOUR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!
I’ve been frequenting this restaurant for years but have decided I will no longer give them my business. As a long time customer I’ve seen countless examples of the employee, whom I believe is the owner, show complete disregard for his patrons and never showing any desire to offer any semblance of customer service. I’d excuse this behaviour and give him the benefit of the doubt excusing his actions or comments as being stressed or overwhelmed but that’s not the case. This man is bitter and hate filled; it baffles me how he has the audacity to treat people in this manner while operating a business that requires customers to support it. Over time I’ve heard many stories from family and friends of his egregious behaviour, I’ve seen him yell and swear at teenagers, I’ve seen him yell and argue with elderly patrons & of course every age group in between and its a common theme for this to be the extent of his verbal communication “skills”. I hadn’t really had this issue too often until recently. It’s like they’ve given up and My family and I can no longer support this business. Recently their own website was down so I called the restaurant and placed my order then at the end I asked how much it costed for this one menu item, to which the owner told me to “google the menu and call back” and he hung up on me. I googled the menu again but the site was down I couldnt find the price so I called back and politely told him that I tried googling it but the website is down, in response to this he said “I don’t have time for this” as if reciting a price I’m going to pay him is too much for him to do and hung up on me again. I despised this interaction and I stayed away from the restaurant for the majority of COVID-19. Until recently. I called in today for two gyros. The man took my order and I came to pick it up 20 minutes later. Not only was my order not ready when I got there but he was only making me one gyro despite having ordered two. I informed him of this mistake and instead of making more meat for a second gyro he took half the meat off my initial gyro and slapped it down on the second. What kind of blatant disrespect are you displaying for your customers here? I hope this place goes out of business and a real Greek restaurant takes over except in a much better and less filthy location. Good luck operating this kind of business.
Disappointed with inconsistent pricing and being overcharged. Confronted the owner, but the experience wasn't resolved. Great food, but unfair pricing practices Overshadow the quality.
