My daughter has been attending York Stars for a few years now and has thoroughly enjoyed her time there. The staff have always been great and we’ve seen so many improvements in her since she started. She’s always had so much fun and enthusiasm for the classes. Highly recommend YS!!!
Repetitive and inattentive coach. The coach (Jazz) makes you do the same exercises over and OVER again, without moving on to more advanced exercises. Attended the RG portion of class, but she just repeated the same basic exercises we learned in the previous year, which is just very VERY basic stretches - more of a warm up than actually teaching you new skills. They say they teach Gymnastics More like a very relaxed yoga class. Reply: Who said anything about adult classes?!? I am not criticizing the classes, it's the instructor, Jazz! In the RG portion of class, instead of teaching apparatus skills, they just did A LOT of warm ups and stretches, which are very basic things they taught you in your first year. Your second year of gymnastics should be a little more advanced than your first. And not just that, but she eats and watches movies on her phone instead of teaching. Like I stated previously: Little to no advancement in skills. They just teach the same beginner stuff as when you first started.
My two girls have been with York Stars for 6-7 years since they were little girls who just loved to do cartwheels. Now as competitive rhythmic gymnasts, they benefited from the coaches who are very caring and supportive of the girls’ development, not only for their athletic abilities, but also for building their characters, discipline and determination. The club also fosters friendship and support among the fellow gymnasts through fun events, year-end shows, and out-of-town competitions. I always recommend the club to my friends who want to raise confident and well-rounded girls.
I just want to say we are so glad that my daughter Phoebe trains at York Stars Rhythmic Gymnastics. All the coaches are amazing. They are responsible and care about the kids. The kids not just learn the gymnastics skills they learn all the other skills which will benefit for their whole life. We love York stars and Phoebe is also proud to be gymnast of York Stars.
What an amazing place! I have been training here basically since they’ve opened and it’s been great! The coaches are awesome, as are all the gymnasts! Somehow, they make it feel more like a family than just as a sport. Everyone is so nice, but also very professional. I highly recommend to all girls seeking to do a fun sport.
My daughter enjoys going to the classes to learn gymnastics skills with her friends. Teachers are phenomenal in coaching and helping the girls grow. I definitely recommend this club!
If I could I'd give York Stars 10Stars!!! Amazing and caring coaches who understand that there is no kid alike and find individual way for each athlete. A positive and friendly atmosphere. Very approachable staff that is always ready to listen to any concerns and implement them into their coaching plans. Would 110% recommend it to anyone!
