I have very curly hair, so I’m naturally prone to ingrowns and have very sensitive skin. The results are fabulous, she took her time and was so amazing and professional with the services. The best of the best, so clean, and my skin looks amazing!
I have chosen to remain anonymous in this review to protect my privacy and to emphasize the importance of respecting all clients’ confidentiality. I’m incredibly disappointed by my recent experience at this salon, especially with how I was treated by the owner, Anna. More than 24 hours before my appointment, I attempted to modify the services I had booked, but was unable to do so online (the system online does not allow you to modify or change your appointment). I called the salon on July 28th — no answer. I called again the next morning at 10:00 AM when they opened, still no response. I finally got through to someone at the front desk (Panthena, who was lovely and professional) just 40 minutes before my appointment. She said she would speak to Anna on my behalf. When I arrived, I was told I’d be charged 50% for the two services I no longer wished to receive. I asked to speak with Anna directly by phone (she wasn’t on-site) and explained that I had tried to modify the appointment within the 24-hour window, that I’m a returning client with no history of no-shows, and that I was still prepared to go through with one of the services — despite just coming from a family emergency and not being in the best state. Rather than show any empathy or flexibility, Anna responded coldly and said, “I’ve had people do this before,” implying I was trying to pull something. Her tone was condescending, rigid, and completely lacking in compassion. She seemed more interested in asserting authority than treating a loyal client fairly. I would also like to highlight that: their cancellation policy says you can cancel for free up to 24 hours ahead, otherwise you’re charged 50% for late cancellation or 100% for a no-show. Nowhere in that policy does it mention anything about modifying services — yet that’s exactly what I was trying to do. I wasn’t cancelling my entire appointment or failing to show up — I was communicating in advance and still intended to keep part of the booking. Despite that, after everything, Anna still went ahead and charged my card for services I did not receive. At that point, I chose to leave. I value my time — and others’ — which is why I showed up at all. But the way Anna handled the situation made it clear she isn’t interested in treating clients with fairness or respect. What she may not realize is that she didn’t just lose one client that day — she lost several. I have friends who go to both the Barrie and Aurora locations, and after hearing what happened, they’ve told me they will no longer be returning either. That speaks volumes. If you're looking for a place that treats clients with empathy, professionalism, and decency — I strongly suggest you take your business elsewhere.
I got a Brazilian waxing here as I wasn't able to go to my normal salon.... NEVER AGAIN. The waxing appointment was so painful - and I found out later from my usual aesthetician that the lady at the waxing strip had used wax so hot it ripped off and damaged my skin in a very private area. The skin has never healed properly all thanks to this salon....
