Really disappointed! Veal sandwich is about 1/4 size of picture on website. There's more sauce than meat. I could eat 4 of these things. I fact I left hungry. Was about $19 with a warm coke. I would not come back
Frankie’s place is unequivocally the best Italian restaurant the GTA has to offer! The food is second to none; all made from scratch with high quality ingredients. Try the gnocchi or Veal sandwich. Will blow your socks off! Aside from the cuisine, Frank is one of the nicest and most generous people I have had the pleasure of meeting. He truly cares about every customer that comes through his door and he makes you feel like his most valued customer every time you set foot in the place. Frankie Panini sets the gold standard for excellence in customer service and cuisine.
I wanted a quick bite and saw this place next to the library and I ordered slice of pepperoni pizza, and let me tell you - I was back in Rome ! I’m so impressed! I’ll be back for more tasting !!!
Absolutely incredible service and delicious panzos. This family owned restaurant is a gem of a place and the atmosphere this lovely family creates for their customers is above and beyond. Highly recommend the panzos! Will update on their other menu items as I'll definitely be returning!
My second experience at Frankie Panini was unfortunately a far cry from my first. Long story short: We waited 40 minutes for fries. Yes, fries. It took 20 minutes to make veal and eggplant sandwiches, which I could stomach, but another 20 for two sides of fries. The owner said the new kitchen format was to blame and that only one fryer was available at a time and that the lunch rush was tough to handle. Except our order came in before the lunch rush happened, and people who made their orders after us walked away with their sandwiches before we even received an update on ours. Obviously they kept forgetting about our order. They just couldn’t admit it. All the owner offered us were two tiramisu cups that were very small consolation – and not a great take on tiramisu at that. The order at that point should’ve been free. When our order finally came through, I walked away feeling annoyed but having what I thought would be a decent lunch in hand. I was wrong again. I came home to a veal sandwich that had several hairs in it. I plucked out several before giving up. I don’t know what’s going on in that kitchen, but it can’t be good. The only person I’ll give a break to is the lovely girl out front who empathized with us. But I would a need more serious apology to come back.
Had a veal and the texture was very strange so I opened up the sandwich and noticed that the meat itself was 1mm thin. The bread crumbs around it was 4 times the thickness, if not more. It gave it a gooey feel to it because it sucked up the oil it fried in. The sauce was tasty though, but not worth $20. Not sure if this is the same place that was in Oakridge but if it is……I know it has the potential to be better.
Disgusting pasta, bad food, bad service and give your food away to other people. I had a highly disappointing experience at Frank Panini, spending nearly $80.00. Here’s a summary of my order and the issues encountered: -Veal Sandwich: Paid extra for mushrooms, cheese, and onions. The sandwich was cold, sauceless, missing cheese, and the bread was wet and soggy. -Steak Sandwich: Paid extra for mushrooms, cheese, and onions. The steak was bland, watery, missing cheese, cold, and the bread was soaked. -Eggplant -Spaghetti: Paid extra for a meatball, which was missing. The sauce was bad and watery, with parts of the pasta clumped together and cooked unevenly. Some parts had no sauce at all. The only actual item eaten was the eggplant, the rest will go to the dog. Even the sandwich was 1 bite and disappointment. Customer service There were about 4-5 customers waiting for food in this small shop, so I stepped outside. After the place cleared out, I returned to see another customer being served my order of spaghetti for his son. I was then asked to wait 10 more minutes for fresh pasta. This seemed like a conscious choice to favor one customer over another, which is unacceptable. I watched him order, I watched them make this choice. My son found the pasta inedible, stating it was the worst he's ever had. I tried it and can confirm the same. This item should be removed from the menu. Seriously have some chefs try your pasta menu and your customers will benefit from their feedback. The penne I had last time was also terrible. When I called to address these issues, the staff was very apologetic and offered to make something special for me to compensate. However, there were several points where staff members could have caught these mistakes, yet none did. As for my order being given away they thought recovery would be a better choice then prevention and that is not the case. This is a reflection on management. Additionally, no receipt was given. All meals should be made well, It was not even busy after I ordered. I did check threw my order before I left but my mistake was assuming the meatball was in the spaghetti. If i opened that dish and saw the spaghetti I would of returned it on the spot. Poorly cooked flat noodle with watery tasteless sauce dry and gross. I will admit the veal sandwich I had a few weeks prior was far better, but the quality difference this time was like night and day. Overall, my experience was extremely disappointing. The food was expensive, cold, incorrectly prepared, and missing items. I hope Franky Panini can address these issues to prevent future disappointments for other customers
